Meanwhile,
Macomb County Democrats will “barnstorm” Sterling Heights on Saturday, with
elected officials and hundreds of volunteers going door-to-door campaigning for
state House candidate Henry Yanez (see post above).
Yanez,
a Sterling Heights firefighter and paramedic who lost a congressional bid to
oust U.S. Rep. Candice Miller in 2010, faces Republican Sean Clark, a sales
manager who narrowly lost a House race two years ago.
Macomb
County elected officials and hundreds of area volunteers will barnstorm
Sterling Heights to talk to voters and urge their support of Henry Yanez, a

is racking up the union endorsements while Clark enjoys the support of business
groups.
According
to the Democrats, the 9 .m. to noon canvassing will also provide voters with information
on President Obama, state and local candidates and ballot initiatives.
Officials
who are scheduled to participate include: U.S. Rep. Sander Levin, Macomb County
Clerk Carmella Sabaugh, county Sheriff Tony Wickersham, county Treasurer Ted
Wahby, Prosecutor Eric Smith, state Sen. Steve Bieda, state Rep. Marilyn Lane
and Macomb County Commissioners Dave Flynn and Fred Miller.
