SCOTUS decision: Mayor's instant reaction, 'I'll marry you' at City Hall

Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor had an instantaneous response on Facebook to news of the Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage:

3 mins ·

Great news from the Supreme Court this morning. If your church won't marry you, come to Sterling Heights City Hall and I'll marry you there!

Taylor was a leading supporter of the city's controversial 2014 human rights ordinance that protected the LGBT community from discrimination within Sterling Heights, Michigan's fourth-largest city. That ordinance was soon rescinded by the city council under heavy public pressure.

A far different response to the court ruling came from Ron Dwyer, a conservative activist from Troy:

We are screwed! I only recognize God's law. I only recognize marriage between man and women. I do not recognize perversion. I plan on opening a website company catering to heterosexual couples only based on my Christian beliefs. Come and try to shut me down and fine me!

That's not nearly as harsh as some guy in Nashville who posted this:
Terry Warner Its not fine we need to circle the wagons around our churches lock n load and challenge these as wholes
