Here's the press release:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will attend and speak at the 31st Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference, Sept. 18-20, 2015, at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
“The Michigan Republican Party is very eager to hear from Gov. Bush in September,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel. “The Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference provides a great outlet for people to gather and collaborate on the best ways to improve our state. Gov. Bush’s insights about what worked in Florida are always welcome, and we look forward to partnering with him and other influential leaders during this historic weekend.”
Gov. Bush announced his candidacy for president on June 15. Bush made national headlines for being the first Republican governor to be reelected in Florida history. Under his leadership, Florida businesses added 1.3 million net new jobs, the state was one of only two to receive a AAA bond rating and he increased the state’s reserves from $1.3 billion to $9.8 billion all while cutting $19 billion in taxes.
“I am excited to visit Michigan again and speak at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference,” said Bush. “Leaders in Michigan have shown that conservative principles can create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to rise up. That is exactly what I did in Florida, and I look forward to sharing that message on Mackinac Island.”
