'Viviano' is golden at ballot box -- get ready for the name-changers

One conclusion that's abundantly clear from last Tuesday's election results is that the Viviano name is golden in Macomb County.
In fact, I'm wondering how many potential 2016 candidates on the local scene may change their name to Viviano -- especially if their eye is on a judicial seat -- to give them a huge boost in the next election campaign.

Vince Viviano
On Election Night, Vince Viviano, no relation to the prominent Viviano political family (though a political ally of County Executive Mark Hackel), won his bid for a Macomb Community College board seat in a walk. In his first run for office, Viviano, a former court bailiff who has no ties to the education community, finished atop a 12-candidate field. With three MCC seats up for grabs, Viviano topped the second-place finisher, incumbent Frank Cusumano, by a stunning 27,000 votes.
As for the Viviano family, David, a Michigan Supreme Court justice, had an awesome night. Appointed to the high court just last year, he was elected by a wide margin statewide to finish that partial term.
David Viviano

In Macomb County, Viviano grabbed more than 75 percent of the vote in a three-person field, allowing him to pad his lead across the state by a whopping 123,000 votes.
David is the brother of Macomb Circuit Judge Kathryn Viviano, who succeeded the siblings' father on the circuit court bench in 2010. The elder statesmen, Antonio Viviano, was a longtime judge and prominent attorney in Macomb County until he faced mandatory retirement.
So, if voters see a Stanislaw Viviano on the '16 ballot, maybe they shouldn't be surprised.
