ICYMI: Hackel opponent delivers classy concession speech

I've been remiss in not posting the classy, cordial post-election message delivered by County Executive Mark Hackel's Republican opponent, Dave Novak. After the Wednesday morning final returns came in, showing Hackel winning by a wide margin, Novak, a Chesterfield Township Republican, posted a concession speech on Facebook:

In a contest that pitted the traditional Republican versus Democrat ideology, the people of Macomb County cast their votes and the numbers have been counted. Since elections are about the will of the people, I have to thank everyone for coming out to vote.
I would like to especially thank my Wife Sheila for her love, guidance and support along with all members of my campaign team. A special thanks to Jaime Green and James Nowc.
I’ve always believed that Macomb County offers opportunities to all who have the diligence and will to grab hold of it. Mark Hackel believes that, too. We both recognize that, though we have come a long way from the old ways of how this county operated, Mark’s vision is similar to mine in that we both see a bright future for our citizens. Mark has achieved a victory for himself and Macomb County. I applaud him for it.
I urge all Macomb County residents who supported me to join me in not just congratulating Mark Hackel, but also offering our current executive our good will and sincere effort to find ways to work together in a bi-partisan cooperative spirit and to bridge our differences. There is a reason that I have called Macomb County home for 47 years. Let us work in Making Macomb our Home, together.
