From the GOP: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Chairman Flynn

When I was working on my news story about the Macomb County GOP’s $5,000 Christmas party -- thrown by the outgoing tea party types -- it was surprising how many officials and activists declined to talk.
Whether the five grand that was diverted away from election campaigns could have made a big difference in key races for the county board is debatable. But one GOP operative privately said this:
“If they were going to spend that much money on a Christmas Party, they should have at least sent a fruit basket to Dave Flynn.”
Flynn, of course, is the Sterling Heights Democrat who ousted Republican Kathy Vosburg as board chair after the Dems took a 9-4 advantage in commissioner seats in November.
