A plug for Macomb County Sheriff Steve (oops) Wickersham

In the race for Macomb County sheriff, a company in Virginia is extracting revenge on Republican Steve Thomas.

When Thomas asked to use the Thomas4sheriff.com domain name that the company owns – at no charge – they were apparently offended and gave a bit of a plug to the incumbent Democrat. Except they couldn’t seem to remember Sheriff Tony Wickersham’s name.

Here is the text that pops up when you log onto Thomas4sheriff.com:

Maybe you are lost, looking for another website. Our company owns this website and recently we were approached by the campaign of Steve Thomas to allow them use of our site for free. Being a business we turned them down. The campaign site of Mr. Thomas ends in a (dot).org, which to us is not a very smart or good business decision when running a campaign. Our website is still for rent for the rest of the election. Contact us at 304-640-0381 to talk terms. Until then we would like to offer you a link to his opponent and his (dot).com.
