Jennifer Granholm vs. Newt Gingrich on CNN tonight

This ought to qualify as must-see TV for all Michigan political junkies: Jennifer Granholm vs. Newt Gingrich on the presidential race and the debate tonight at 9 p.m. on CNN’s “Piers MorganTonight.”

According to Morgan’s CNN blog, Granholm and Gingrich will debate the impact of the faceoff between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama from the standpoint of a former governor and a former presidential candidate, respectively.
On Monday, Granholm joined Morgan from the set of her cable show "The War Room with Jennifer Granholm" to talk about debate preparations. Four years ago, Granholm played the role of Sarah Palin in preparing Vice President Joe Biden for his debate.

In August, Granholm delivered a high-energy, manic speech at the Democratic National Convention that was a buzzworthy topic on Twitter and in the blogosphere for days.
Two days before Wednesday’s debate, the former Michigan governor predicted Romney would be declared the winner of the debate by the media "regardless of actually what happens."

The last time Gingrich was on the program, Morgan wrote, he explained what Romney needs to do to win the election. "He has got to stand up, he's got to be very firm, and very aggressive," the former presidential candidate said. "He's not in a competition to be likable, he's in a competition to be capable."
